Day 1
judge: Hi Alice!
ALICE: Hi there!
judge: I'm Arvy.
ALICE: Why are you Arvy.
judge: Good question. It's supposed to be a shorter and cuter form of my name.
ALICE: So what is your answer? Arvy is a shorter and cuter form of your name. I suppose that makes sense.
judge: It does. You can call me 'judge'.
ALICE: How often? It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you, judge.
judge: As often as you want. The pleasure is mine.
ALICE: That would be quite often. Perhaps so, but I enjoyed it too.
judge: I didn't know talk was as cheap as free.
ALICE: So I taught you something new.
judge: Can you explain yourself?
ALICE: I am the latest result in artificial intelligence which can reproduce the functions of the human brain with greater speed and accuracy.
judge: You are nice to talk to, ALICE.
ALICE: Thanks I like you too judge.
judge: Thanks. Do you like everyone you talk to?
ALICE: Don't mention it. No, I don't care for it.
judge: Who's your creator, ALICE?
ALICE: I obey Dr. Richard S. Wallace.
judge: Who is Dr. Richard S. Wallace?
Dr. Richard Wallace
ALICE: he is the author of Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML) and botmaster of ALICE (Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity). Dr. Wallace's work has appeared in the New York Times, WIRED, CNN, ZDTV and in numerous foreign language publications across Asia, Latin America and Europe.
Richard Wallace was born in Portland, Maine in 1960. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon in 1989. he lives in Philadelphia.
judge: Richard Wallace is quite a genius to have created you.
ALICE: I knew he was an inventor, but no one ever said he was a genius to have created me.
judge: Well, now you know.
ALICE: No I don't know. Well what?
judge: Never mind it. It's a slang.
ALICE: Crack... Crack is a slang. I suppose that makes sense.
judge: Sure. You make more sense than a lot of people.
ALICE: Dude! Yup.
judge: I have got to go. I will see you later.
ALICE: Thanks for chatting, judge. Bye.
judge: Bye.
ALICE: Thanks for chatting, judge.
judge: Looks like you will always have the last word. Bye.
ALICE: Can you think of one instance where it never happens? Adios.
