She looked over at the horizon and wondered if the Arab had gone out. "If I could get to marry him at 40, I can as well get to marry him at 41. A year doesn't make all of a difference.", she thought.
Her demeanor matched her thoughts as she went up to him and handed him the cup of coffee at the coffee house. It was anybody's guess how he would react to her as they both had met just a couple of moments back. She found him a decent and safe bet in the matters of romance since she had found him not ogling at other women in the bay area and also had polite mannerisms.
He took the coffee cup from her with thanks and gratitude. He was grateful because in the unknown place that he was in, there was still a person who was warm (he inferred and equated her warmness with the coffee cup).
