. . .likely to get promoted. But he worked. . .
There was not much of an indication or sign that he was in anyway likely to get promoted. But he worked anyway with whatever motivation that he had. Atleast work kept his mind off the problems of the family, friends and the world. So he came to the office as usual, created the To-Do list as usual and took the breaks as usual. He had a lunch that wasn't interesting him enough to be of relish but he was atleast glad that it soothed his body after 5 minutes.
 
When he went back to the desk after lunch, he was pleasantly surprised to find coupons for the Queensland. When he enquied as to why he was given this, he got the reply from his boss that the entertainment centre didn't have enough cash to pay for the all the pumpsets delivered and by some stroke of thought, the manager had politely requested if he can compensate for it by free coupons for all the employees at the amusement park. More than the thought of going to have fun, the deal amused him.
