| There was not a single moment when I did not expect the bridge to collapse but it never did. If not suddenly, was it collapsing slowly without my awareness? It was pointless to worry in either case - if it collapsed all of a sudden, I cannot do anything about it and if it was collapsing without my awareness, I cannot do anything in that case either. That leaves only the other option - that the bridge can collapse slowly with my awareness. And in that case, I can do something about it. As the different parts come down, I can try to give support underneath with whatever I get and so keep up the bridge. I can as well hasten the crossing of those over the bridge so that when the bridge falls down, it doesn't take anyone along with it.
